YouTube
Description
The YouTube module allows adding a YouTube video to a presentation. It can be done by specifying the video ID or its URL (either full or shortened version).
Properties
The list starts with the common properties, learn more about them by visiting the Modules description section. The other available properties are described below.
Property name | Description |
---|---|
HTTPS | If this option is checked, the module embeds the YouTube video over the SSL/TLS secure protocol. |
ID | The video's ID which can be obtained from the YouTube website. |
URL | The URL from the YouTube website (.com domain) or shortened version (.be domain, default in the YouTube share option). If an ID is set, then this property is ignored! |
Offline message | This message will be displayed instead of a video when the content is previewed offline. |
Disable fullscreen | Disables displaying the video in the fullscreen mode. |
Time start | Value in seconds, greater than 0, that determines the time from which the video will start. If the video should start from the beginning, then leave this field empty. |
Autoplay | If checked, the video will start automatically. Note: the sound is muted. |

The YouTube module does not expose any CSS classes because its internal structure should not be changed (neither via Advanced Connector nor CSS styles).
Possible errors
Error message | Description |
---|---|
Video ID seems to be incorrect! | This error message suggests that the video's ID was set incorrectly. In most cases, it means that the user pasted the video URL instead of its ID. |
Neither a video ID nor a URL has been given! | This error message is shown when neither video ID nor URL was set in the module's properties. |
URL seems to be incorrect! | This error message shows if the module was not able to extract the video ID from the URL. Remember that the URL has to be from the .com or .be domain! |
URL seems to be incorrect. It must contain a video ID! | It is a common mistake to set the video URL without the video ID. If this is the case, then this error message will be shown. |
